Meet the Designer...
David Goldstein was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, where he found the theatrical world at a young age. His earliest theatre memory was seeing the national touring company of Fiddler on the Roof, at four years old; and subsequently performing the entire show accompanied by the soundtrack with his sister in the living room.
Several years later, David was enrolled in an after school theatre program, where he played Eugene in Grease. That was only the beginning of a fifteen year relationship with Golden Performing Arts Center, where he began as an actor, performing in over 20 musicals, and progressed to backstage crew, painter, assistant stage manager, carpenter, and eventually, Scenic and Lighting Designer.
David received his BFA in Theatre Design and Production and production from York University in Toronto, Ontario, where he worked as a designer and electrician throughout his 4 years of education. Upon graduating, he continued his design work in Los Angeles at many venues including the Noho Arts Center, El Portal Theatre, Santa Monica Playhouse, Hudson Theatre, and more. Regionally, he has designed in Windsor, ON, West Virgina, Toronto, Pennsylvania, Los Angeles, and New York.
David is currently based out of New York City, and is designing off-Broadway, regionally, corporate events, restaurant consultations, weddings, and anything he can get his hands on.
